Rim Ranch Leather[Home Decor] [Office Products] [Cowboy Gear] [Our Ranch] [Ranch History] [Ranch Horses] [Meanwhile....back at the Ranch] Meanwhile....back at the ranch...
It is hard to believe that it is already October. September proved to be a very interesting and fulfilling month this year. One I will always remember. I thought I would have most of the summer ranch work done by mid-month but we were still putting up hay and irrigating meadows when I hopped on a train to go to Chicago. From there I rented a car and drove to mid-Wisconsin to spend time with some dear friends from college days, Larry and Sarah Conrad. Larry is an amazing artist with stained glass! Larry and I loaded the car and drove to the north woods of Wisconsin to spend a few days with Charlie and Marj Zarter. Charlie is a licensed Muskie guide and took us on one of the times of our lives. What wonderful fun! If you two couples read this page I want to thank you for the enjoyment you gave to this cowboy!
Now as for the ranch. We had some of the wetter weather this spring and early summer than we have had for years. What a year it has been for growing grass! We are just amazed at what the country in Northeast Colorado looks like. It has make some fat cows. Our family is all well for the most part. We won't complain here about the aches and pains that good living has brought to us as it would not do any good and you don't want to read about it anyway. Our kids are doing well also. Daniel is working in south Denver as a water engineer and planning an early winter wedding to a wonderful young lady who we are thrilled have as a part of our family. Roy and his wife Brandee moved back to the ranch in late June. It is fun working with Roy and his being here to take over the ranch will enable me to spend more time in the saddle shop. It is so fun seeing Brandee and our grandson Jake. We are so proud of all of our kids. I hope that this finds all our friends, old, new and those of you we are yet to know, doing well.
Check back here every few weeks if you are interested in ranch life, as we will try to keep this updated. You never know when something funny will happen and it is sort of a tradition to sit around the campfire and tell stories about the cowboy life. We hope that you will enjoy them, too.
